Everyone... Tobin has gone to her new family now. Thanks so much for your inquiries. Please continue to check back with us for updates on availability. Best regards! Eve

Hello, and thank you for your interest in Loblolly Labradors.

We are currently offering for adoption a 22 month old, light red female by the name of Tobin (all the pups in her litter were named to celebrate the winning 2019 USA Women's World Cup team :) She honors Forward Tobin Heath.

Fittingly, Tobin is a very athletic and intelligent dog, a loving and big-hearted soul, and an inveterate retriever. We are seeking a family that can invite her into their home as a lifelong companion and promise to throw the ball for her faithfully. This last point is non-negotiable according to Tobin.

A few details about Tobin:
  • While technically a yellow Lab, Tobin is considered a "light red" on that spectrum (think platinum blond to auburn as permissible bookends to shades of yellow in the breed). Her father is Donaghy and mother Octavia. We are placing her as we have a few too many Donaghy progeny, so have to make some hard decisions to decrease our population size. We feel Tobin has the confidence and training to adjust well to a family situation, and as she is especially affectionate, will revel in the individual attention. When she is petted, invariably she lies down and asks for a belly rub. Tobin is relaxed around people, but she is a child of covid, so her experience off of our property is limited to forays for rabies vaccines. Each time she did fine, but I would expect that she may need patience to navigate flawlessly busy in-door public situations.
  • Tobin is 70-75 lbs, micro-chipped, on flea and heart worm prevention, and up to date on vaccinations with a current rabies tag.
  • Tobin crates and leashes well. She knows basic commands such as "no" "sit" "ok" "kennel" (the latter is a direction for her to enter any door).  In the house she is not destructive but does enjoy walking around and investigating, so a toy basket is ideal for her curiosity. She will do best with a family that has attention to offer, not because she is clingy, but because she is people-oriented and wants to be included in family affairs.
  • Tobin has a medium build and sound lineage that equip her well for a long active life that includes daily walks and/or hiking, but we do not recommend that she, or any English Labrador for that matter, be jogged habitually as their joints are engineered for field and gun activities, which basically means sitting patiently and retrieving on command.
  • Tobin is ready to be spayed. As per best practices, we always recommend that folks wait until a Labrador has reached maturity before fixing. She has had two seasons now, and while she will continue to fill out with age, she is fully developed, so the timing is appropriate (delayed spay/neuter protects long term joint health).
  • Upon placement, she goes home with a portfolio including pedigrees, proof of AKC registration, breed information, developmental guidelines, health records (including rabies tag), and a week's supply of the kibble she currently eats and which we recommend: Victor Professional.
Please email us at [email protected] for inquires about Tobin.

Thanks again for your time and consideration. The best of health to you and your family,

Eve and Christopher Farrell
