Welcoming a puppy home sometimes requires some questions.
Here are the answers to some of the most Frequently Asked Questions that we get from new puppy owners. We ask that you peruse this page for general information about Loblolly's breeding and ownership program. If you still have questions or think you're ready to welcome home a Lab puppy, please contact us at [email protected], and we're happy to talk with you directly about upcoming litters. We do not include an application in our process, rather prefer the conviviality of chatting. Please let us know your history with the breed, your hopes for your new Lab, and details of your lifestyle that might require certain personality attributes in your Lab companion. |
What are the steps in the process of buying a Loblolly puppy? Please check our Current News & Puppies pages for information about planned or available litters, or contact us: [email protected]. We place all of our pups with companion homes and limited registration (i.e, non-transfer of breeding rights). When you contact us, please detail your desires so that we can match you with the best planned litter and puppy that will fulfill your intentions and hopes.
Our puppies sell at fair market price for a well-bred Lab that reflects the 40+ years of resources, diligence, and sacrifice that have gone into developing the quality of our lines, as well as the ongoing costs of maintaining a responsible and reputable breeding program. We prefer to take limited deposits until we have actual puppies, but we do keep a waiting list. Once a litter is born, we collect nonrefundable deposits to guarantee ownership. Puppies begin going to their new homes at 9 weeks old, equipped with a Take Home Care Kit, which includes a week's supply of food, sundries, health records, pre-paid AKC registration papers, information packet, microchip, and pedigrees. Because we believe the adoption process is the vital first step in a lifelong commitment, we ask that you plan on visiting us for the day of adoption. We do not ship puppies. |
How often do you have puppies available?Windancing lines were very active in the previous decade through a stud dog program maintained in Pennsylvania. Our males produced hundreds of beautiful and healthy Labrador puppies in the northeastern United States. Here at Loblolly in Tennessee, we have three potential litters planned for the 2024 year. The primary focus of our program is on health, conformation, and companionability. We do though have some rocket retrievers (let's be honest: talents vary), so if function is what you seek, please be sure to tell us. We anticipate all three colors but do not breed expressly for color. Please visit the Current News tab for updates.

How will my puppy be cared for and socialized before it comes home to me?Loblolly puppies receive all requisite worming and vaccinations and are raised in a clean, climate controlled, indoor environment. We handle our pups daily from the very beginning of their lives and take great pains to ensure that every puppy is well-adjusted to dog and human alike. Our socialization process entails gradual and appropriate introduction of novelty that includes exposure to different environments, toys, and noise levels.
By the time you welcome your puppy home, it will be well-oriented to entering into the rhythms of your household. |
