Two weeks into their lives, the seven puppies born of Windancing's Fire on the Mountain "Moody" and Windancing's Wednesday at Verdigris are thriving. We are happy to report that after an easy daytime whelping on June 23rd, Wednesday has shown herself to be an exceptional mother, keeping the puppies immaculate, well-fed, and content. Comprised of 4 males and 3 females, the litter is quite homogenous with all of the pups within a few ounces of each other. As of last night eyes have begun to open, and we are enjoying witnessing them begin to trundle about the whelping box. We look forward to watching this litter manifest the same desirable qualities of its dam and sire typical of well-bred English Labs including good bone, blocky heads, and intelligent, laid-back personalities, plus the added feature of lovely red coats.
With one male and one female spoken for, we are taking deposits to secure order of choice for the puppies' homing date of August 18. At that time they will have been wormed twice and received all requisite vaccinations. Puppies go to their new homes with a care kit including a week's supply of quality kibble, a comfort toy and blanket, and a portfolio consisting of AKC registration papers, pedigree, health record, sales contract, and training literature, plus a two year guarantee on hips, elbows, and eyes. In addition to health and beauty, our dogs sport happy and confident attitudes as all puppies are individually socialized in our home throughout their early weeks to ensure the easiest possible transition into their new lives and the enduring temperaments into adulthood of loving, affable companions. Eve FarrellMy family got our first Labrador when I was eight. I wanted a cat. Despite my initial reluctance and deep desire for a feline, our first Labs-- Spike & Princess-- brought great happiness into our household and marked the beginning of my lifelong love for Labradors. Eventually I got my cat, but with 35 years of experience with this breed, I am grateful for the beauty and joy of my family's Labrador heritage, and thus, I dedicate this page to the very first ones of my childhood.
