We are very happy to announce that our daughter Layla and Jubal, our lovely yearling out of Windancing's Cabe, completed the ten trials of the AKC Good Canine Citizen test and that Jubal will receive her first AKC title accordingly. This AKC program encourages dog owners to teach their pet companions the fundaments of getting along with others in society and being a pleasurable addition to the family. Without fear, aggression, or inappropriate zeal, the dogs must navigate other people with their own animals in social settings and demonstrate good obedience manners, including sitting, staying, and coming on command.
The course required eight weeks of classes and home training, and Layla tackled the project with maturity, compassion, and diligence. She makes us proud :)
My family got our first Labrador when I was eight. I wanted a cat. Despite my initial reluctance and deep desire for a feline, our first Labs-- Spike & Princess-- brought great happiness into our household and marked the beginning of my lifelong love for Labradors. Eventually I got my cat, but with 35 years of experience with this breed, I am grateful for the beauty and joy of my family's Labrador heritage, and thus, I dedicate this page to the very first ones of my childhood.
